Position: Nutrition Program Manager
Location of the position: Jakarta

Objective 1 : Contribute to raise ACF profile in Indonesia : representation of ACF as a reference in Nutrition, through an active networking 



Activities :

• Participation to nutrition meeting (cluster, forum) and trainings
• Enhance active participation in forum/events around nutrition and care practices (i.e.: week of breastfeeding).
• Advocate/share information about ACF experiences/expertise on nutrition and care practices with others actors in nutrition/Ministry of Health
• Enhance link with stakeholders (UN agencies, NGOs, Ministry of Health/department of nutrition) :
• with stakeholders as privileged partner in the implementation of CMAM and the voice of nutrition actors towards the government.
• with government at capital level for support on nutrition policy + advocacy about protocols (take in account MUAC criteria, implementation of a national protocol, implementation of CMAM…)
• with government at province level where ACF is working (Province Health Office and nutrition department) 

Objective 2 : Provide technical support / supervision / counselling


Activities :
At mission level, start the CMAM process implementation

• At capital level:
• participate in country strategy design and proposals writing
• ensure interactivity with the link to stakeholders and in nutrition networks (be force of proposition)
• develop a nutrition advocacy strategy
• coordination with programmes departments (WASH, FSL, and DRR) for ensuring integration, and with administration, logistic and HR
• At province level:
• provide technical training and follow-up to provincial staff
• help ensuring a good coordination in all activities related to Nutrition
• At base level to provide technical support to the deputy PM Nutrition/Care Practices

 
Objective 3 : Collect information/data about nutrition :


Activities :

• Enhance link with University/Research Institutes on nutrition, public health, psychology/social science to keep informed on research developments and to establish partnerships.
• Literature review (situational analysis, activity reports, press articles, essays, etc.) to closely follow the situation in the country regarding nutrition/care practices.

Diploma / Level of studies :
Master in Public Health, with a Nutritionist degree a major in Nutrition, with experience and/or strong interest in care practices
 
Required skills:

• Previous experience in the humanitarian field
• Thorough knowledge of public health, nutrition and psychology/social science
• Experience in IYCF (Infant Young Child Feeding)
• Good communication and networking skills (partners, authorities)
• Good analysis & reporting skills
• Fluent in English (written, spoken)

Responsibilities:

• Support in design and implemented integrated nutrition education curriculum based on community needs.
• Deepen ACF understanding of nutritional situation in project areas through regular assessments and studies.
• Supervise the implementation of nutrition activities by local NGO staff and health kaders
• Prepare and implement training of trainers for local NGO staff and health kaders on nutrition education.
• Liaise with the Ministry of Health and other stakeholder related with nutrition
• Collaboration with technical spychosocial worker to implement the program to achieve the goal.
• Make sure the care practices/psychosoc ial component in the community going well and have impact on improvement of children under five nutritional status.
• Write monthly activity reports and other report as required which connected with psychosocial activity.
• Monitoring and follow up to the child development and its impact on nutritional status in the community centre.

Desired Qualifications :

• Indonesian citizen, Bachelor degree in nutrition, public health, or related field
• Good knowledge of nutrition,  experience in development or, humanitarian projects.
• Strong experience in health education programs and direct community work.
• Analytical skills; Good communication, interpersonal, self-motivating skills and team worker.
• Excellent skills in liaising/ networking with local authorities preferable.
• Ability to negotiate and adapt to different stakeholders, good organized, reliable, punctual.
• Good presentation and communication: ability to speak in front of numerous beneficiaries and authorities.
• Good knowledge of Indonesian Ministry of Health structures and policies.
• Fluency in English and Bahasa Indonesia oral and written, computer skills.
• Additional value for candidates with knowledge of local communities and proficient in Dawan.

• To write the 2010-2012 Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Proposals in relation with AcF Country Strategy 2009-2012, in coordination with local and international partners and in line with Governmental priorities.
• Read and understand relevant calls for proposal and formats and application requirements & processes from identified donors;
• Compile the necessary information for 2010-2012 proposals (including assessment work);
• Design related proposals (narrative, logical framework, budget) with the support of national teams, HQ and HoM and in line with AcF strategic orientations
  

Desired Qualifications :

• Master’s Degree in Natural Disaster Management
• Knowledge of Indonesia context
• Excellent knowledge of DRR (CBDRM and local institutions- focussed ) of at least 5 years
• Excellent command of assessment, project design and proposal-writing (at least 2 similar experiences)
• Proven track record of securing funding for DRR projects
• Experience in partnerships or consortium with local NGOs, local authorities and other international NGOs
• Experience with ECHO-funded disaster preparedness & risk reduction funding facility (DipECHO)
• Ability to work under pressure and deliver quality work under strict deadlines
• Strong analytical, micro and macro assessment abilities
• Excellent research, writing and editing skills
• Superb grammar and vocabulary skills
• Progressive experience and proven ability to work independently

Desired Qualifications :

• Masters’ Degree in Nutrition and Health
• Proven experience in acute malnutrition detection, referral and treatment programs of at least 3 years,
• Experience in training/ capacity-building of at least 2 years,
• Experience in dealing with local implementing partners of at least 2 years,
• Experience in Team management, coaching and capacity-building of at least 2 years
• Experience in contexts of chronic vulnerability is a plus.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal skills; and ability to negotiate and adapt to different stakeholders
• Patient, able to overcome conflicts and adapt speech, communication and training skills
